Elder's Council

Wisdom, guidance, and cultural knowledge at the heart of our work."

Our Elders Council is one of the most important parts of how Gizhewaadiziwin operates. Elders carry the traditional knowledge, language, and lived wisdom of the Anishinaabe people, and their guidance shapes the cultural foundation of everything we do — from how we deliver care to how we conduct our meetings and ceremonies.

The Elders Council advises staff and leadership, participates in ceremonies, and helps ensure that Gizhewaadiziwin remains grounded in Anishinaabeg Worldview as it grows and evolves.
